Job summary

BAE Systems in Manassas, VA is seeking a self-motivating Receiving Inspector to join the quality team. The role reports to the Quality Manager and conducts visual and mechanical inspections of electronic units, subassemblies, and completed products.

You will use calipers, micrometers, and go/no-go gauges, read engineering drawings and specifications, and ensure compliance with military standards. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in this on-site position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 1-2+ years of inspection experience
• Ability to read, interpret and inspect technical specifications and engineering drawings
• Proficient in the use of mechanical inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and go/no go gauges
• Ability to read and understand military standards, process sheets and other documentation related to the inspection of printed wiring boards, electrical and mechanical piece parts and assemblies
• Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office products Candidate must be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills and work with a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect in-process and completed products such as electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies or mechanical units, subassemblies, structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds
• Use various measuring devices and testing equipment. Accepts, rejects, or reworks defective or malfunctioning units or systems
• May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
• Performs line clearances after each lot to ensure all materials from the previous lot have been removed
