Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Reinforcing-Steel Estimator/Lead to join our team. This role supports estimating, project management and operations, serving as a technical resource for bid development and preconstruction processes.

The successful candidate will review structural drawings, develop labor and material pricing, set production rates, and help establish standards for large reinforcing projects.

• 7+ years in reinforcing-steel industry or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop estimates for material, fabrication, detailing, placing labor, equipment and freight.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions per project.
• Review plans for scope gaps and constructability concerns.
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final estimates.
• Assist in bid strategy and pricing.
• Coordinate with structural/architectural/MEP teams on reinforcing steel.
• Mentor junior estimators and detailers as department grows.
