Job summary

Walden Robotics seeks an engineer to own the networking that powers our fleet of robots. You will design, build, and harden a low-latency wireless link and on-robot, building-wide networking to keep a deployed fleet connected and responsive.

Your work spans site-wide infrastructure, radio topology, transport software, and QoS to deliver reliable control, video, and audio in real industrial RF environments. Responsibilities include optimizing teleoperation latency, designing real-time transport,

Qualifications

• Real-Time Networking: build low-latency, real-time systems with reliability.
• Networking Fundamentals: IP, transport, routing, QoS; analyze latency.
• Wireless Understanding: RF environments, Wi-Fi, interference handling.
• Real-Time Media/Transport: WebRTC, RTP, or similar.
• Systems Software: C/C++ and/or Python on Linux.
• Field Debugging: diagnose across software and wireless boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Teleop Network Link ownership: topology, radio config, latency optimization.
• Real-Time Transport: design/tune transport for video, audio, and control.
• Building-Wide Infrastructure: AP placement, backhaul, VLANs, topology.
• Robot & Infrastructure Networking: onboard and deployment-site networking.
• RF & Environment Robustness: improve performance in real RF environments.
• Resilience & Failover: graceful degradation and recovery.
• Diagnostics & Tooling: build tools to measure and debug network performance.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with teleoperation, VR, and infra engineers.
