Job summary

Uber seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the Eater Real Time Pricing team to own surge pricing algorithms and real-time decision signals. You will influence how pricing and forecasting drive the marketplace across global scale, balancing supply and demand while maintaining performance.

You’ll collaborate with Applied Science, Product, and Ops to productionize models and deliver robust systems. Mentorship and ownership of outcomes are expected in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in one or more OO or functional languages (Go, Java, Python).
• Track record of leading design/delivery of complex, multi-quarter projects.
• Experience designing/operating high-throughput, low-latency production services.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of surge pricing and forecasting workstreams end-to-end.
• Set technical direction for real-time pricing systems for high throughput/low latency.
• Drive engineering rigor: design reviews, operational excellence, graceful degradation.
