May Mobility in Ann Arbor, MI, is seeking a Senior Performance Engineer for the Behavior Planning team to own latency, throughput, memory usage, and thread safety in our real-time decision-making pipeline. You will profile the stack, enforce performance budgets, and build guardrails for deterministic, high-throughput execution.

Prior background in autonomous vehicles is not required; we seek engineers obsessed with low-level execution, profiling tools, and system performance across C++

Qualifications

• BS in CS/CE or equivalent.
• 5+ years of professional software performance experience preferred.
• Experience with low-latency, high-throughput systems.
• Familiarity with Linux profiling and sanitizers.

Responsabilités

• Instrument the behavior pipeline to measure runtime performance.
• Refactor high-frequency loops to maximize cache utilization.
• Re-engineer thread boundaries for multi-core processing.
• Build automated micro-benchmarks and telemetry in CI/CD.
• Design performant C++ module interfaces with autonomy teams.
