Aalo Atomics is seeking a Software Engineer, Industrial Controls to architect and implement a deterministic runtime for industrial control workloads. You will own the stack from I/O drivers through runtime execution to external interfaces, working with controls, hardware, test, and software teams to deliver high-availability software for nuclear-energy-grade processes.

We value experience in real-time systems, embedded software, and modern software architectures.

Qualificações

• 10+ years of professional software engineering with ownership of systems software or runtime systems.
• Experience in industrial automation, control systems, or high-reliability software.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, CE, or a related field; willingness to work on-site in Austin, TX.

Responsabilidades

• Architect and implement a robust industrial controls runtime for standard PC hardware in RT or RT-oriented environments.
• Define execution model for deterministic control software including scheduling and fault containment.
• Design I/O connectivity layers and drivers for PLC modules and industrial protocols.
• Lead high-availability architectures with hot/standby redundancy and bumpless failover.
• Develop mirrored or replicated runtime state for continuity across hardware.
• Establish memory management prioritizing determinism and long-term stability.
• Define runtime interfaces for telemetry, control, diagnostics, and configuration.
• Collaborate with controls engineers to translate requirements into architecture and behavior.
• Prototype early systems and set engineering standards for testability and observability.
