Job summary

Applied Intuition seeks a seasoned software engineer to own the live-map estimation core for its onboard stack. You will fuse HD map priors with live perception to deliver a real-time world estimate used by the planner across vehicle programs.

You will define architecture, interfaces, and evaluation pipelines, and ship high-performance C++ on embedded compute. This is a rare opportunity to own critical infrastructure across multiple domains.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production software with at least one shipped system owning the estimation core.
• State estimation fundamentals in production: factor graphs and/or filtering, data association, uncertainty representation and propagation, 3D geometry and transforms.

Responsibilities

• Own the onboard live-map estimator end to end: fuse HD map priors with live perception into a single real-time world estimate.
• Build onboard map change detection: classify boundary shifts, stop-line moves, road closures from map-perception divergence.
• Define the map trust contracts the planner uses, including confidence semantics and degraded-mode behavior.
• Build evaluation backbone, ground-truth and metrics pipelines, and regression testing to prevent regressions.
• Ship estimation code in modern C++ that meets real-time budgets on embedded compute.
• Extend the loop offboard: aggregate divergence detections across fleet drive logs into map freshness and correction pipelines.
