Job summary

singularity-defense in Gardena, CA is hiring a Flight Software Engineer to design and develop mission-critical real-time embedded software for aerospace and defense systems. You will work with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into reliable software.

Responsibilities include integration with avionics, sensors, HITL/SITL testing, telemetry, and flight-test support across embedded microcontrollers to Linux flight computers, all while meeting safety and security standards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a Flight Software Engineer.
• Strong C/C++ skills in real-time, embedded environments.
• Experience with sensor integration (IMU, GPS, cameras, radar).
• Familiarity with Linux-based embedded platforms and hardware bring-up.
• Ability to work close to hardware and in flight tests.

Responsibilities

• Design real-time flight software architecture for autonomous aerospace systems.
• Integrate guidance/navigation/control software with onboard sensors.
• Perform HITL/SITL testing and hardware interfacing.
• Develop telemetry, logging, and system health monitoring.
• Support flight tests and debugging across heterogeneous compute environments.
