Job summary

Xebia is seeking a Senior Data Streaming Engineer to join a client project focused on large-scale, real-time processing. You will work on Kafka-compatible streaming systems and Apache Flink, deploying and operating services in Go across AWS and Kubernetes.

The role emphasizes building reliable, scalable streaming workloads, addressing stateful processing challenges, and collaborating with the streaming team to evolve platform practices while maintaining production excellence.

Qualifications

• Hands-on production experience with Kafka-compatible event-streaming tech.
• Understanding of partitions, consumer groups, delivery guarantees, and schema evolution.
• Experience developing stream-processing solutions with Apache Flink.
• Understanding of Flink concepts: event time, watermarks, state, and checkpoints.
• Experience developing services in Go and operating on AWS/Kubernetes.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for distributed streaming workloads.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain production-grade, Kafka-compatible event-streaming solutions.
• Manage partitions, consumer groups, delivery guarantees, and schema evolution.
• Develop stream-processing applications using Apache Flink.
• Work with event time, watermarks, state management, and checkpoints.
• Develop services in Go and deploy on AWS-based infrastructure.
• Operate streaming workloads on Kubernetes and troubleshoot production issues.
• Improve reliability, scalability, and operational stability of streaming systems.
• Collaborate with engineers to evolve the streaming platform and practices.
