Job summary

Call Box is building a high-performance, AI-native engineering organization focused on real-time voice AI for the automotive sector. You will design, implement, and ship features end-to-end, owning live-site health and performance in a fast-paced team.

You will work across speech-to-text, text-to-speech, LLMs, and telephony integrations, optimizing latency and reliability while collaborating with AI agents and maintaining high-quality code reviews.

Qualifications

• CS degree or demonstrated equivalent depth in algorithms, systems design, distributed computing.
• 5+ years building and scaling production systems.
• Expert-level TypeScript and Node.js.
• Strong AWS experience (ECS, Lambda, EventBridge, RDS/ElastiCache, SQS, CloudWatch, networking, IAM).
• Infrastructure as code with CDK.
• CI/CD and release automation (semantic-release or equivalent).
• Production database experience (Postgres).
• Experience integrating with dealership management systems or comparable enterprise API integration.
• Obsessive about testing, observability, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Own design, implementation, deployments, and live-site health.
• Write code across the full conversational AI stack (speech-to-text, text-to-speech, LLMs, telephony).
• Optimize real-time audio pipeline for low latency and high quality.
• Own the observability platform end to end (distributed tracing, CloudWatch dashboards, LLM cost attribution).
• Design event-driven, cross-account AWS plumbing (EventBridge, SQS).
• Deliver Infrastructure as Code with AWS CDK across containerized and serverless architectures.
• Deliver fault-tolerant telephony integrations with robust error handling.
• Collaborate with AI coding agents and drive high-quality code reviews.
