Blue Origin Engines is seeking a Sr Controls Engineer to design, develop, and validate real-time control architectures for advanced test facilities and propulsion hardware. You will own control strategies, PLC logic, sensor integration, and safety compliance as part of a hands-on team delivering production‑ready solutions.
The role requires 10+ years in real-time control systems, strong PLC skills (Siemens/Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000), and experience with commissioning complex
Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing real-time control systems for complex hardware.
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
- Deep proficiency in PLC programming (ladder logic, structured text) across Siemens or Rockwell platforms.
- Hands-on commissioning experience for complex test facilities.
Responsibilities
- Design & Architect Control Systems for test facilities, real-time PLC logic, and embedded control algorithms.
- Test Facility Operations Support during commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Real-Time PLC & Automation Programming across Siemens and Rockwell platforms.
- Electrical Architecture & Instrumentation design, sensing, conditioning, and distribution.
- Systems Integration & Validation with cross-disciplinary teams.
- Controls Software Development & Lifecycle, including reviews and unit tests.
- Safety Standards Compliance and documentation for certification.
- Documentation & Knowledge Transfer, mentoring junior engineers.
