Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Senior Algorithms and Simulation Software Engineer to design and implement state estimation and control algorithms for real-time, mission-critical systems. You will develop frameworks for HITL and software-only testbeds and create high-fidelity simulation models to verify algorithms, collaborating with a broad software and hardware team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in real-time systems.
• Experience writing real-time state estimation and control algorithms.
• Experience with modern SDLC practices (CI/CD, Git, testing).
• Proficiency with Python; proficiency with C++ or Rust.

Responsibilities

• Develop mission-critical state estimation and control algorithms.
• Build software infrastructure for HITL and software-only testbeds.
• Create simulation models for real-time and offline runs.
• Develop offline data analysis tools.
• Help design and execute end-to-end SPARC test plans.
