Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is hiring a Senior Algorithms and Simulation Software Engineer to design and implement state estimation and control algorithms for SPARC and related projects.

You will work as a hands-on software engineer, delivering production-quality code for mission-critical real-time systems and collaborating across hardware and software testbeds while improving tooling and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Professional experience writing real-time state estimation and control algorithms.
• Professional experience writing production-quality state estimation and software.
• Proficiency with Python and at least one real-time language (C++/Rust).
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, unit testing, and integration testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop mission-critical state estimation and control algorithms.
• Develop software infrastructure for Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) and software testbeds.
• Build simulation models and infrastructure for real-time and offline simulations.
• Create offline data analysis tools.
• Define and execute end-to-end test cases and test plans for SPARC software validation.
