Job summary

Maryland State Department of Assessments and Taxation (SDAT) seeks an Assessor Manager to supervise a team of residential assessors in Prince George's County. The role includes inspections, data entry, and reviewing valuation changes to ensure fair market values and timely completion of assessments.

Qualifications

• Nine years of appraisal experience estimating real property value and five years in tax assessment valuation.
• IAAO Course 101, 102 and 300 or equivalent approved by the Department.
• Bachelor's degree may substitute for four years of appraisal experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train residential assessors and team leaders in a local office.
• Monitor, review, and approve work of staff; conduct inspections and data entry.
• Perform sales analyses to develop land rates and neighborhood adjustments.
• Generate and review reassessment reports and edits; assist supervisors as needed.
• Coordinate reassessment assignments, appeals, and new construction reviews.
