Job summary

PNC is seeking an Underwriter III in Real Estate Banking to assess complex entity-level real estate transactions with advanced financial and risk analysis. You will determine borrower creditworthiness, structure deals in line with policy, and manage a portfolio within regulatory expectations.

The role requires independent judgment, collaboration with internal teams, and the ability to optimize risk-adjusted returns while supporting growth and compliance objectives.

Qualifications

• University degree with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience.
• Experience with credit underwriting and portfolio management in real estate.
• Knowledge of IRS Code Section 42 and 47, equity structures and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare loan offerings for all types of transactions at any level of complexity or in management of a portfolio as assigned.
• Analyze credit, collateral strength and financial worthiness of loan/transaction parties; assess risks and mitigants.
• Provide recommendations on credit decisions, structuring, sizing, and terms to optimize risk-adjusted returns.
• Identify and confirm regulatory requirements; ensure internal policies are followed.
• May coach and review the work of other underwriters and fill in for manager as required.
