Job summary

First American's Agency Division seeks an experienced title underwriter to provide underwriting support and guidance for real estate title insurance commitments and policies. You will apply underwriting standards within delegated authority and ensure proper guidance in settlement services, while communicating effectively with agents and staff.

The role requires 8–10 years of underwriting experience, strong knowledge of real estate law, and the ability to collaborate across teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 8-10 years title underwriting experience.
• Familiar with real estate law.
• Knowledge of regulations related to real estate title insurance and settlement services.
• Ability to collaborate and act decisively.
• Detail oriented and able to communicate clearly across teams.

Responsibilities

• Provides underwriting support, counsel, and authorization to company personnel, agents, and customers for real estate title insurance commitments and policies.
• Underwrites title insurance using delegated authority and established guidelines.
• Guides company personnel in real estate settlement services.
• Implements underwriting standards and guidelines per company processes.
• Communicates underwriting and settlement information to the team.
