Job summary

Hogan Lovells Cadwalader is seeking a Paralegal – Real Estate Title and Survey to join our preeminent Real Estate practice. The role focuses on title and survey review and supporting real estate lawyers across the firm on a range of transactions.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of relevant experience, a bachelor’s degree, and a proven ability to meet tight deadlines. Core hours are Mon-Fri 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET, with overtime as needed; annual billable hours target is 1,650.

Qualifications

• Five (5)+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably from a large law firm or title company environment.
• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Experience performing diligence directly.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all aspects of title and survey review across all types and sizes of transactions for the firm’s Real Estate practice.
• Review and summarize exceptions listed in title commitments, identify and analyze title issues, finalize pro formas and related endorsements, assist with collating and coordinating flood due diligence for clients, and work closely with deal attorneys to develop practical solutions or structure alternatives for title issues.
• Execute the timely completion of due diligence deliverables, often under tight transaction deadlines.
• Manage various transactions, which vary in size and complexity from single-property deals to complex portfolios involving 50 to 100 properties or significantly more.
• Support and partner with attorneys, who will work directly with title companies, borrower’s counsel, and other third parties to ensure all diligence is completed efficiently and accurately.
• Meet the minimum requirement of 1,650 annual billable hours.
