Job summary

BCLP is seeking a Real Estate Paralegal to support the Real Estate Team in Chicago and across locations including Denver, Irvine, New York and St. Louis.

The role assists in rendering legal services in commercial real estate, acquisitions, finance and leasing, under supervision of senior attorneys. The position requires a Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate with 6–10 years of RE transactional experience, willingness to travel, and strong document drafting and coordination skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred.
• 6–10 years’ experience with RE transactional work including title and survey projects.
• Some travel could be required at times.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate documentation and closing of real estate transactions, including sales, purchases, leases and mortgage financing.
• Review title commitments, title documents and surveys.
• Draft, edit and format transaction documents and correspondence.
• Ensure pre-closing preparation and post-closing follow-up is completed promptly.
• Perform legal research using Westlaw, Lexis and online resources.
• Maintain organized files for voluminous transactions and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
