Job summary

Brookfield Real Estate Group is seeking a Fund Accountant/Controller-level professional in New York to manage financial reporting, fund operations, and investor reporting for large real estate investments. You will work with complex GAAP requirements, coordinate audits, and ensure timely distributions and cash management.

Ideal candidates have 5–6 years of mixed public/private accounting experience, CPA preferred, and strong Excel with Investran familiarity.

Qualifications

• 5-6 years of experience with a mix of public/private accounting.
• Fund accounting experience required; PE Real Estate experience strongly preferred.
• Hands-on and high standards for accuracy and quality; meticulous with detail.
• Ability to multitask and meet multiple reporting deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; team coaching abilities.

Responsibilities

• Review financial statements in accordance with US GAAP; investment company accounting and IFRS.
• Assist with external audit and tax reporting with big 4 firms.
• Oversee fund operations and credit facility maintenance.
• Oversee and manage third-party fund administrator.
• Ownership of fund reporting and compliance: GAAP quarterly/annual financials, tax, LP/GP reporting.
• Assist and coordinate with other departments for investor inquiries.
• Review management fee and waterfall calculations.
• Monitor liquidity, capital calls, distributions, and wires.
