Job summary

Taylor Root is partnering with a well-established real estate development and homebuilding organization seeking a Senior Counsel, Real Estate & Development to join its leadership team. This role provides strategic legal counsel to executive leadership while leading complex land development transactions and risk management initiatives.

You will oversee real estate transactions, development contracts, and governance matters, collaborate across Finance, Operations, and Sales, and guide outside

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership; Florida licensure preferred.
• 8–12+ years of legal experience focused on real estate, land acquisition and development.
• Experience supporting sophisticated real estate transactions within a developer, homebuilder, real estate company, or law firm environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead real estate, land development, and construction transactions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements and development contracts.
• Guide risk management, compliance, and governance initiatives.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Sales, and HR to support business objectives.
• Manage external counsel and oversee litigation or disputes as needed.
