Qualifications

• J.D. degree from ABA-accredited law school; state Bar Admission; minimum of six (6) years of relevant legal experience.
• Strong ethical values consistent with Avangrid's core values.
• Self-motivated, resourceful and agile to handle a broad range of legal matters including multitasking.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to provide cross-functional support.
• Well-organized with ability to identify business-oriented solutions to complex legal problems.
• Excellent oral and written communication, problem solving, analytical, organizational and negotiating skills.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Providing legal counsel and advice supporting development, construction and asset management relating to renewable energy projects with real estate focus.
• Supporting major transactions and negotiations including landowner issues, joint ventures, acquisitions and dispositions.
• Presenting complex legal matters to senior business clients in plain language.
• Managing outside counsel.
• Reviewing and drafting real estate agreements including leases, PPAs and related instruments.
• Coordinating with an in-house real estate paralegal.
