Job summary

Avangrid, Inc. in the United States seeks a Senior Counsel (Real Estate) to join the Legal Department supporting renewable energy development, construction, and asset management across multiple states.

The successful candidate will provide strategic legal advice, draft and negotiate complex real estate agreements, and coordinate with outside counsel and internal teams. The role emphasizes experience with real estate transactions, risk management, and ability to translate complex legal concepts

Qualifications

J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school is required.
Strong ethical values and ability to multitask in a broad range of legal matters.
Excellent oral and written communication and negotiating skills.

Responsibilities

Provide legal counsel for development, construction and asset management of renewable energy projects with real estate focus.
Support major transactions including joint ventures, landowner issues, and asset dispositions.
Review and draft real estate agreements: leases, purchase agreements, easements and title curative instruments.
Coordinate with outside counsel and internal stakeholders; manage title insurance processes and related documents.
Support litigation counsel and in-house paralegal on real estate matters.
