Job summary

Charles Schwab Corporation seeks a Managing Director & Deputy Chief Counsel – Corporate Real Estate to lead the enterprise real estate legal function. You will advise senior leaders on high-impact transactions, governance, and risk, driving scalable processes and strategic initiatives across a diverse portfolio.

You will manage outside counsel, mentor the team, and shape the contracting strategy while partnering with cross-functional teams to support business objectives with integrity and rigor.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited U.S. law school and bar admission in good standing.
• 12+ years of sophisticated commercial real estate legal experience at a leading firm or in-house.
• Proven ability to advise senior executives on strategic initiatives and high-risk matters.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise real estate legal function with governance, strategy, and playbooks.
• Counsel senior stakeholders on legal, regulatory, operational, and commercial risk in real estate.
• Negotiate and draft leases, subleases, purchase agreements, construction, easements, and related arrangements.
• Oversee complex real estate transactions across office locations, data centers, and facilities.
• Guide on real estate aspects of acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, and initiatives.
• Manage outside counsel and external advisors to ensure high-quality support.
