Job summary

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Member of, or eligible to become a member of, the Virginia State Bar.
• Minimum 6 years of experience as a real-estate attorney (in-house or outside counsel).
• Demonstrated experience negotiating complex lease amendments, acquisitions/dispositions, eminent-domain matters, and high-volume lease transactions.
• Strong communication, analytical and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate a high volume of complex lease amendments and related documents.
• Provide legal support to the portfolio management team for existing store leases in the U.S. and Canada.
• Handle takings, eminent-domain, easement, and access agreements with governmental authorities.
• Support real-estate acquisitions, dispositions, and related litigation.
• Collaborate with the Lease Administration team to ensure compliance with lease deadlines and obligations.
