Job summary

CFS, a respected Chicago real estate development firm, seeks a Senior Accountant to manage general ledger for a diverse property portfolio and support monthly closes, budgeting, and financial analysis. You will work directly with leadership in a collaborative environment and gain exposure to budgeting, CAM, and tax reconciliations.

The role offers work-from-home flexibility with 12 remote days annually and opportunities to advance as the company grows.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of GAAP and tax accounting principles.
• CPA or active progress toward CPA is preferred.
• 2-5 years of accounting experience within commercial real estate.
• Experience with Yardi and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger accounting for a portfolio of commercial and multifamily properties.
• Prepare financial statements, lender reporting packages, and owner reporting schedules.
• Participate in monthly close processes, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Assist with annual budgets, CAM reconciliations, and real estate tax reconciliations.
• Support cash management activities, including bank reconciliations and cash forecasting.
• Manage lease administration within Yardi and coordinate tenant improvement draw processes.
