Job summary

Mortenson Construction seeks a Senior Accountant to support accounting and financial reporting for its real estate development and investment businesses. This role performs investment and corporate accounting, financial reporting, technical accounting research, audit coordination, and process-improvement activities.

The Senior Accountant will partner with internal and external stakeholders to deliver accurate, timely financial information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Strong GL and financial-system skills and Excel proficiency.
• CPA designation strongly preferred; public accounting experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-, quarter-, and year-end close activities with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Support accounting for investments, joint ventures, and managed assets.
• Coordinate with auditors and tax advisors; prepare workpapers and analyses.
• Ensure internal controls and accurate financial reporting.
• Identify process improvements to reduce manual effort and improve reporting.
