Senior Real Estate Accountant (Yardi Experience Preferred) Center City!

Salary: $100-125k

Schedule: Hybrid

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Real Estate Accountant to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of real estate accounting principles and practices, with proven expertise in utilizing Yardi software. This role will be responsible for overseeing various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for a portfolio of real estate properties.
  • Generate and review variance reports, providing explanations for significant fluctuations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all financial reporting deadlines.
• General Ledger Management:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger records.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and sub-ledgers.
  • Manage and process journal entries, ensuring proper coding and documentation.
• Yardi System Expertise:
  • Utilize Yardi software to manage property accounting, including rent collection, vendor payments, and financial reporting.
  • Troubleshoot Yardi system issues and provide support to other team members.
  • Assist in the implementation and optimization of Yardi modules.
  • Generate and customize reports within Yardi.
• Accounts Payable/Receivable:
  • Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and accuracy.
  • Manage vendor relationships and resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Monitor and manage tenant accounts, including rent collection and lease administration.
• Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
  • Contribute to the development of financial models and projections.
• Audit and Compliance:
  • Assist with annual audits and tax preparations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Maintain proper documentation and internal controls.
• Property Accounting:
  • Manage property level accounting, including CAM reconciliations, and lease administration.
  • Perform lease abstraction and ensure accurate lease data entry into Yardi.
  • Calculate and process tenant recoveries.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in real estate accounting.
• Proven expertise in Yardi software (Voyager, Breeze, etc.).
• Strong understanding of GAAP and real estate accounting principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized.
• Experience with CAM reconciliations, lease administration, and property level accounting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA or CPA candidate.
• Experience with real estate development or investment firms.
• Advanced knowledge of Yardi modules and reporting capabilities.
