Job summary

Argent CRE Accounting, LLC, an Atlanta-based provider of outsourced financial and accounting services for real estate and construction clients, is seeking a Senior Real Estate Accountant to join on-site in Atlanta, GA.

You will manage day-to-day accounting, general ledger maintenance, AP/AR, bank reconciliations, and monthly/year-end closes, while preparing financial statements and supporting budgeting. Mentorship of junior staff and process improvements are expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in real estate or construction accounting and GL management.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting software and Excel.
• Knowledge of GAAP and property/construction tax basics.
• Experience in a multi-client or outsourced accounting environment is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting for real estate and construction clients.
• Perform general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable processing, bank reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closings.
• Prepare and review financial statements; support budgeting and forecasting and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to refining firm-wide best practices.

Role Description The Senior Real Estate Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Atlanta, GA. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities for real estate and construction clients, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable processing, bank and account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closings. The Senior Real Estate Accountant prepares and reviews financial statements, supports budgeting and forecasting, and ensures compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations. The role collaborates with internal team members and client stakeholders to analyze financial performance, address accounting issues, and recommend process improvements. This position also provides mentorship to junior accounting staff and contributes to the refinement of best practices within the firm.

• Demonstrated experience in real estate or construction accounting, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar platforms) and strong skills in Microsoft Excel and other office productivity tools.
• Solid understanding of GAAP, real estate-related accounting principles, and basic tax compliance for property and construction entities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients, deadlines, and priorities.
• Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal team members.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.
• Experience in a public accounting, outsourced accounting, or multi-client environment is highly beneficial.
