Job summary
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an experienced nuclear engineer or physicist to join a team that develops and maintains reactor physics methods and software for NNPP applications. You will collaborate with NNPP specialists to enhance analytical capabilities, verify methods with designers and analysts, and deploy software to production environments.
Preferred candidates have PhD in Nuclear Engineering or related fields, experience with radiation transport software, and strong programming
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related engineering or science field with 4+ years of experience; or Master's with 2+ years; or Doctorate in a related field.
- Experience developing radiation transport and reactor analysis methods
- Familiarity with reactor physics software tools such as the listed codes
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain reactor physics methods and software for NNPP applications.
- Collaborate with designers and analysts to verify and validate new methods.
- Deploy and maintain production reactor physics software to support NNPP operations.
