This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer or scientist to build expertise in reactor physics, neutronics, and nuclear analysis while working alongside experienced technical professionals.

In this role, you will contribute to reactor design, modeling, safety evaluations, and performance analyses through computational simulations, engineering calculations, and multidisciplinary project work. The position offers strong mentorship, hands-on technical experience, and a clear path for professional growth within a highly regulated, safety-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform reactor physics and neutronics calculations and analyses under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Support neutron transport, reactivity, fuel performance, depletion, and reactor-core evaluations.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain computational models using approved engineering methodologies and software tools.
  • Assist with criticality safety evaluations and support compliance with applicable nuclear safety requirements.
  • Conduct physics-based simulations to assess reactor behavior, system performance, and design alternatives.
  • Analyze experimental, operational, and test data to support engineering decisions and technical evaluations.
  • Participate in verification, validation, sensitivity, and uncertainty analysis activities.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, analysis summaries, and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with reactor systems, thermal-hydraulics, safety, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Support technical reviews, project meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow established engineering, quality assurance, safety, configuration management, and document control processes.
  • Take on increasing technical responsibility as knowledge and experience develop.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Engineering Physics, Physics, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • Recent graduate to approximately 1-3+ years of relevant experience (post-university experience)
  • Strong foundation in engineering, mathematics, physics, and analytical problem solving.
  • Ability to learn and apply technical concepts in a regulated, safety-critical environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary technical team.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, accountability, and commitment to technical excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship, co-op, research, academic project, or industry experience relevant to reactor physics, neutronics, or nuclear engineering.
  • Exposure to nuclear energy, power generation, aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with reactor physics, neutron transport, criticality safety, shielding, depletion, or related analysis methods.
  • Experience using engineering simulation tools, computational modeling software, or scientific programming languages.
  • Understanding of technical documentation practices, engineering standards, and quality assurance processes.
  • Experience working in collaborative project environments with multiple stakeholders.
