Job summary

Battelle Energy Alliance is seeking a Reactor Multiphysics Methods Developer at Idaho National Laboratory to develop and support advanced reactor analysis using the MOOSE framework and Griffin, with C++/Fortran software development and multi-physics coupling.

You will collaborate with engineering teams, contribute to model validation and verification, and advance novel methods for reactor physics problems while mentoring staff and working within a 9x80 schedule with every other Friday off.

Qualifications

• PhD required (Level 2) or PhD plus 2 years experience (Level 3).
• Experience with C++, Fortran, and multi-physics modeling.
• Experience with MOOSE framework, Griffin, and Monte Carlo tools.

Responsibilities

• Apply principles and concepts to develop, deploy, and support innovative technical solutions across platforms.
• Apply software engineering to complex analytical processes and data visualization.
• Leverage modeling and simulation for nuclear and related fields.
• Analyze, test, modify, document, and maintain models or simulations.
• Develop designs, requirements, operations, and testing processes.
• Optimize and develop software using MATLAB, Simulink, C/C++/C#, Python, Julia.
• Provide consultation to internal teams on technologies and testing.
• Mentor junior staff and lead groups if needed.
