Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a React Native Developer to build and ship high-quality cross-platform mobile apps for Android and iOS. You’ll own features from development through production, working with design, QA, and backend teams to deliver polished user experiences.

The role is remote, with flexibility to accommodate candidates in the United States, including Sunnyvale, CA, and other locations. Competitive compensation and Cognizant incentives are available.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with strong hands-on experience in the React Native framework.
• Solid understanding of mobile development principles, with experience building apps for more than one target OS (Android and iOS).
• Understanding of the end-to-end activities involved in developing a cross-platform mobile app, from development to production.
• Basic understanding of JavaScript development and build tools.
• Awareness of good practices in client-side coding.
• Solid understanding of software design patterns such as MVC, Delegation, Singleton, Factory, and Adapter.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using React Native.
• Own the full app lifecycle, from development and testing through release to production.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient client-side code following industry best practices.
• Apply proven software design patterns to build scalable, well-structured applications.
• Use JavaScript development and build tools to manage builds, dependencies, and releases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into working features.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and improve app performance on both Android and iOS.
