Cognizant is hiring a senior frontend engineer in Seattle, WA. You will drive architecture decisions, oversee React.js development, and collaborate with product managers, UX, and backend teams to deliver secure, scalable, multi-channel applications.

You will mentor engineers, ensure code quality, and promote accessibility and performance optimizations while aligning with hybrid work practices. This role offers a strong compensation package and opportunities to influence product roadmaps.

In This Role, You Will

• Drive front end architecture decisions by evaluating component structures state management patterns and integration strategies to ensure maintainable secure and performant hybrid solutions for diverse business needs.


• Oversee translation of business requirements into detailed technical specifications by collaborating with product managers business analysts and UX specialists to align React Js solutions with strategic objectives.


• Provide hands on guidance in coding reviewing and refactoring React Js modules to uphold robust engineering standards improve code readability and reduce defects before production deployment.


• Coordinate closely with backend and integration teams to define APIs optimize data flow and manage error handling so that multi channel applications operate reliably under varying load conditions.


• Ensure adherence to enterprise development practices by promoting version control discipline continuous integration pipelines automated testing suites and structured release management tailored to hybrid work patterns.


• Monitor application performance using relevant tools and metrics to identify bottlenecks memory issues and rendering inefficiencies then implement targeted optimization strategies for responsive user interfaces.


• Guide adoption of reusable component libraries design systems and accessibility standards so that front end assets remain consistent inclusive and efficient across multiple digital channels.


• Collaborate with cybersecurity and compliance stakeholders to embed secure coding practices within React Js implementations protecting user data and supporting regulatory and internal audit requirements.


• Support smooth hybrid collaboration by organizing structured ceremonies documentation and knowledge sharing activities that keep distributed team members aligned on priorities and technical decisions.


• Influence product roadmaps by presenting technical tradeoffs delivery risks and effort estimates that help stakeholders make informed decisions on scope timelines and investment in user facing capabilities.


• Champion continuous improvement by analyzing incident trends conducting root cause reviews and implementing preventive enhancements that strengthen reliability of customer facing multi channel platforms.


• Coordinate day shift activities and handoffs to ensure timely resolution of critical issues alignment across teams and uninterrupted operation of key digital services for business stakeholders and end users.

What You Need To Have To Be Considered (Required)

• 8 - 12 years of experience of overall software development experience with proven responsibility for complex front end projects in large scale enterprise environments


• Expert level proficiency in React Js including modern hooks based patterns component lifecycle management state handling and routing within production grade applications


• Apply strong knowledge of JavaScript and related ecosystem tools such as bundlers testing frameworks and package managers to build efficient maintainable front end codebases.


• Bring practical understanding of multi channel or omnichannel solution design such as coordinating web mobile and other digital touchpoints to deliver coherent customer experiences.


• Show familiarity with hybrid work practices and collaborative tools enabling effective communication task tracking and documentation across onsite and remote team members.


• Utilize experience with API integration asynchronous data handling and error management to create stable resilient interfaces between React Js front ends and backend services.


• Demonstrate capability in performance profiling accessibility considerations and cross browser compatibility so that applications meet usability expectations for diverse user groups.


• Exhibit strong mentoring and coaching abilities focused on improving technical skills collaboration habits and delivery quality of fellow engineers without formal leadership hierarchy responsibilities

Salary And Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is from $70k to $117K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
