Cognizant is seeking a Full Stack Java Developer in Irving, TX, to design, develop, and deliver scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, React.js, and cloud-native tech. You will collaborate with architects, stakeholders, and global teams to build innovative digital solutions.

The role emphasizes hands-on coding, API/microservices development, and strong DevOps practices, with hybrid work (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) at client offices in Irving, Texas.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in full-stack development with Java, Spring Boot, and React.js.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Cloud experience on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• CI/CD, DevOps, Git, and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with AI Chatbots and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) is a plus.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and working with distributed teams.
• Excellent communication and mentoring of developers.

About the role

As a Full Stack Java Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and delivering scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, React.js, and cloud-native technologies. You will be a valued member of the application development team and work collaboratively with architects, product owners, business stakeholders, and global delivery teams to build innovative, high-quality digital solutions.

In this role, you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, React.js, Redux, and related technologies.
• Build, enhance, and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices that support business-critical business functions.
• Perform hands-on coding, debugging, testing, code reviews, and application performance tuning to ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable, secure, and maintainable technical solutions.
• Collaborate with onsite and offshore teams, providing technical guidance and supporting successful Agile project delivery.

What you need to have to be considered

• 8+ years of experience in full-stack application development with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and React.js.
• Proven experience developing enterprise-scale applications using React.js, Redux, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Strong hands-on experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience implementing AI Chatbots, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions, and integrating Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Strong knowledge of software development best practices, testing frameworks, code quality standards, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with the ability to independently analyze requirements and deliver solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including experience working with distributed teams.
• Experience mentoring developers and leading technical discussions.
