Blue Origin is seeking a Sr. Commodity Engineer for Raw Materials to lead end-to-end strategy for critical metals including aluminum, copper, titanium, and steel.

You will standardize materials, define sizing and specs, and partner with design, M&P, and procurement to secure a cost-effective, robust supply base. You will influence product design-for-supply-chain, develop should-cost models, and drive supplier qualification while coordinating across finance, operations, and production

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (Materials Science, Metallurgical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering).
• 10+ years of experience in materials engineering, commodity management, or strategic sourcing in manufacturing.
• Experience in aerospace/defense or high-consequence manufacturing environments.
• Working knowledge of material specifications and standards (AMS, ASTM, MIL-SPEC).
• Excellent communication and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Lead a comprehensive design standardization effort across raw materials to consolidate part numbers, alloys, tempers, and treatments.
• Develop and maintain a master raw material catalog with approved alloys, dimensions, and heat treat conditions.
• Develop a multi-year commodity strategy aligned with production ramp and cost targets.
• Negotiate long-term agreements and inventory strategies to reduce unit costs and improve availability.
• Establish standard operating systems for raw material forecasting, procurement, stocking and consumption.
• Track cost savings, supplier performance metrics, and supply chain risk indicators.
