Evonik is seeking a Raw Materials Director to lead the sourcing of base petrochemical and inorganic materials across North America. You will develop procurement strategies and coordinate with internal users to optimize value and risk for multiple Evonik business lines.

The role requires an undergraduate degree (engineering or chemistry preferred), extensive procurement experience, and strong negotiating skills. Occasional travel to supplier sites and plants is expected.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree required; engineering or chemistry preferred.
• MBA or equivalent financial experience preferred.
• 10+ years procurement or related commercial experience.
• Strong negotiating and decision-making skills.
• Ability to travel to Evonik suppliers and plant locations.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the sourcing of a defined set of raw materials in North America.
• Work with stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies aligned with goals; manage spend and savings.
• Develop and support negotiation strategies and competence.
• Maintain communication with key partners inside and outside BL organizations.
• Balance interests of partners as stakeholders in sourcing of products across functions.
• Create and implement formal written strategies for select high-impact raw materials.
• Develop supply chain risk management strategies addressing disruption risk.
• Identify and act on synergies with other Procurement Units within Evonik.
