Job summary

GovSG in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Principal Range Safety & Flight Termination Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency. This on-site role requires leadership on flight termination systems for launch and reentry vehicles.

Responsibilities include overseeing FTS requirements, conducting test activities, and producing formal reports. A DoD Secret clearance and a Master’s degree in STEM with 12+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in STEM with 12+ years of experience.
• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• Proven experience with flight termination and ordnance systems.
• Experience with RCC-319/RCC-324 standards and tracking architectures.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Range Safety expert during flight tests and advisory groups.
• Oversee requirements development and verification for FTS products.
• Perform technical surveillance across FTS hardware/software development and checkout.
• Produce technical reports with findings and recommendations.
• Represent stakeholders in design reviews and forums.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
