Job summary

NTU International A/S seeks a Senior Non-Key Expert – Railways Specialist to support technical, policy, institutional and investment aspects in railway projects worldwide. The role requires extensive experience across the project cycle, strong stakeholder coordination and knowledge of EU standards such as ERTMS.

Travel to Sub‑Saharan Africa, Latin America, and Asia is expected. The candidate should hold a Master’s degree in railway or related field and demonstrate at least 7–15 years of relevant

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in railway engineering or related transport discipline.
• Excellent knowledge of railway sector, interoperability, safety and international practices.
• Experience with development aid delivery methods.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support identification, preparation and implementation of railway projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies, technical assessments and design reviews.
• Assist on planning, corridor development and multimodal integration.
• Advise on rail infrastructure, signalling, interoperability and safety systems.
• Support procurement, tendering and supervision of implementation.
• Promote low-carbon and climate-resilient railway infrastructure.
