Job summary

Hatch is seeking a Senior Railway Bridge Construction Manager & Inspector in Chicago, IL to lead planning, inspection, rehabilitation, and construction of railway bridges across North America.

The role requires extensive field leadership, coordination with owners and contractors, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance on complex projects such as bascule, swing, and lift bridges. Strong PE credentials and 15 years’ experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural or Construction Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of railway bridge construction/inspection experience.
• P.E. license in Illinois or reciprocity eligible.

Responsibilities

• Lead rehabilitation, maintenance, strengthening, and replacement projects.
• Serve as Construction Manager, Resident Engineer, Project Manager, or Owner's Representative.
• Oversee budgets, schedules, safety, and quality across active railway projects.
• Coordinate with railway operators to minimize service disruptions.
• Mentor engineers and inspectors on multidisciplinary teams.
