Evident Change is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to lead complex development efforts for web-based applications. You will influence technical architecture, mentor engineers, and ensure scalable, secure, high-performing systems.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams and focus on continuous improvement are essential in this role. Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 5–8 years in full-stack development, and strong Ruby on Rails experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• A minimum of 5–8 years of experience in full-stack software engineering.
• Experience developing full-stack web applications using Ruby on Rails is required.
• Familiarity with Hotwire (Turbo + Stimulus); Tailwind CSS; PostgreSQL; RSpec and FactoryBot (for testing).
• Advanced experience with Git, including code review workflows and CI/CD integration.
• Advanced SQL optimization and data modeling skills.
• Experience designing and building APIs and scalable systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and mentor other engineers.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, high-performance software systems that support Evident Change’s mission.
• Lead design discussions and provide architectural guidance across complex application development efforts.
• Conduct and lead code reviews, offering constructive feedback and enforcing coding standards and best practices.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, supporting skill development and technical growth.
• Evaluate and recommend tools, libraries, and frameworks to improve development efficiency and system performance.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
• Participate in incident response and root cause analysis to ensure system reliability and continuous improvement.
