Job summary

Evident Change is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable Ruby on Rails applications that support social services data and reporting across the organization.

In this remote role, you will influence architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and ensure our systems are secure, performant, and reliable while collaborating with stakeholders and cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 5–8 years of experience in full-stack software engineering.
• Experience developing full-stack web applications using Ruby on Rails is required.
• Familiarity with Hotwire (Turbo + Stimulus); Tailwind CSS; PostgreSQL; RSpec and FactoryBot.
• Advanced experience with Git, including code review workflows and CI/CD integration.
• Advanced SQL optimization and data modeling skills.
• Experience designing and building APIs and scalable systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and mentor other engineers.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.

Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer

STATUS: Full time

LOCATION: Remote; work from anywherewithin the United States

We seek a senior full-stack software engineer to lead complex development efforts for our web-based applications that support social service system reporting and analysis using Ruby on Rails. In this role, you will influence technical architecture, mentor engineers, and ensure our systems are scalable, secure, and high performing. You will collaborate across teams, contribute to continuous improvement, and help advance tools that directly impact decision making and outcomes in social services.

Our Compensation and Benefit Offerings

The national average salary for this position ranges between $108,500 and $115,000 per year. Compensation within this range is dependent on experience, parity with peers, and where an employee lives.
