Egis invites an experienced Resident Engineer - Rail & Transit to join our Lisle, IL team. You will lead rail and transit projects from pre-construction through commissioning, coordinating with clients, subcontractors, and regulators to deliver on time and within budget while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineers (PE) license required.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
• Proven experience (10+ years) of resident engineering experience managing rail/transit construction projects.
• Strong understanding of stations, facilities, rail systems, including communications, train control, OCS, traction power, and electrical design.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Commitment to safety and quality.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage rail/transit projects from pre-construction to commissioning.
• Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and regulators to meet project goals.
• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables within time and budget.
• Oversee quality control to ensure workmanship standards.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to avoid delays and costs.
• Monitor budgets, expenses, and project costs.
• Develop and maintain project schedules to meet milestones.
• Enforce safety protocols for all project personnel.
• Provide regular status reports to management and clients.
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Provide technical direction to staff and inspectors; align with design, budget, schedule.
