Kimley-Horn in Reston, VA is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead and grow the Rail & Transit practice regionally. You will own the vision for the Transit practice, overseeing planning, design, and implementation for passenger rail and local transit agencies.

The role emphasizes winning new work, mentoring staff, and delivering projects profitably, with autonomy and potential bonus or ownership.

Qualifications

8+ years of Rail & Transit experience in growing and leading a Rail & Transit practice.
Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
Track record of winning and delivering work in the local area.
Established relationships with local DOT, local agencies, and/or municipalities.
Demonstrated ability to manage transportation projects profitably through agency specifications.
Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills.
Strong desire to be engaged with clients solving project problems.

Responsibilities

Has an entrepreneurial spirit, creating a vision for their Transit practice while facilitating the growth of our regional US-based transit practice.
Lead planning, design, and implementation of transit services and facilities throughout the country.
Focus on local transit providers to envision, study, plan, design, engineer, manage, and implement new services or expansions.
Build and maintain positive client relationships with local DOTs, agencies, and municipalities.
Provide vision, business planning and strategy; establish goals for the Transit practice.
Grow and mentor staff; manage projects profitably and transition work to qualified staff.
Operate with integrity and allow autonomy to lead, direct, and grow the business, with potential ownership.
