Job summary

Balfour Beatty US is seeking a Senior Estimator for our Rail Region estimating team in La Verne, California. You will prepare comprehensive estimates for rail, transit, heavy civil, and related systems, coordinating with PM, engineering, procurement, and controls to develop reliable bid submissions.

The role requires 10+ years of estimating experience on large projects, proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam, and experience with HCSS Heavy Bid and P6 scheduling.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of estimating experience for large highway projects.
• Experience with heavy civil/infrastructure scopes and related pricing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) and Bluebeam.
• HCSS Heavy Bid experience required.
• P6 CPM schedule experience preferred.
• Strong communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete and accurate estimates for rail, transit, heavy civil, station, roadway, utility, traction power, signaling, and MEP scopes.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from plans and specifications.
• Analyze drawings and contracts to identify risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate with project management, engineering, operations, procurement, and controls.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Develop labor, equipment, material and indirect cost estimates.
• Support proposal preparation, bid reviews and executive presentations.
• Participate in value engineering and risk assessments.
• Prepare estimates for Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build pursuits.
• Maintain estimating databases and historical cost records.
