Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Track & Civil Engineer to support track and civil infrastructure design and construction for the California High-Speed Rail program across Wasco/Fresno, Bakersfield, or Sacramento offices. You will lead technical reviews, coordinate interfaces, and ensure compliance with AREMA/FRA and CHSR standards.

Qualifications

• BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, transportation engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license in civil engineering, rail or transportation focus.
• Familiarity with AREMA, FRA regulations, and California public works standards.
• Experience in a program management or design-build environment.
• Strong coordination skills involving multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, complex program.

Responsibilities

• Engineering Oversight & Design Review of track and civil designs for CHSR compliance.
• Evaluate submittals, RFIs, and design packages for constructability and adherence to requirements.
• Provide recommendations to resolve design issues and field coordination challenges.
• Coordinate track and civil interfaces with structures, systems, utilities, and roadways.
• Support interdisciplinary integration across TSCC and adjacent contracts.
• Collaborate with design-build contractors and Authority stakeholders.
• Provide engineering support during construction, including field issue resolution and change evaluation.
• Review construction methods, sequencing plans, and quality documentation.
• Participate in site visits and technical inspections.
• Ensure outputs meet CHSR design standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
• Develop quality management processes and engineering best practices.
• Identify risks and mitigate track and civil design and construction risks.
