Job summary

King County Metro is seeking a Rail SCADA Systems Administrator to lead expert level development and enhancement of Rail SCADA systems, provide ongoing project leadership, business analysis, and new technology research, and handle complex implementation and maintenance. The role will serve as project lead for ongoing maintenance and improvements to the Rail SCADA system.

The Rail Division manages Sound Transit Link Light Rail operations and supports a growing regional transit network.

Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of SCADA and communications systems principles.
Advanced knowledge of hardware, applications, tools and open protocol systems in SCADA.
Knowledge of SCADA data, system security, backup, and disaster recovery.
Skill in conveying technical information to non-technical users.
Skill in maintaining technical documentation and configuration control.

Responsibilities

Provide expert level design, development, enhancement, implementation, and maintenance of SCADA systems.
Lead training for SCADA personnel and other rail staff.
Research and recommend hardware/software; develop purchase justifications.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain SCADA and related systems.
Develop and update SOPs and best practices.
Plan and act as project lead for assigned systems.
Ensure availability of supplies and equipment for tasks.
Participate in committees and perform other duties as assigned.
