Job summary

King County Metro Transit Rail Division seeks five full-time Rail Power Controller positions in Seattle. The roles coordinate deactivation requests for overhead and electrical infrastructure and monitor power distribution via SCADA to keep service reliable and safe.

Responsibilities include identifying irregularities, resolving real-time issues, and supporting incident response. Roles are on-site with 8-hour shifts, 5 days a week, covering 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

• Non-exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act.
• Shift schedule includes 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week, on-site, covering 24/7/365.
• Open to qualified applicants for seven full-time Rail Power Controller positions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate deactivation requests for overhead catenary and electrical infrastructure.
• Monitor the power distribution network with SCADA systems and identify system irregularities.
• Respond to and resolve emergent operational and maintenance issues in real time.
• Support response efforts during critical incidents to maintain system stability and safety.
