Job summary

Alstom in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Test & Commissioning Engineer to plan, execute, and supervise testing and commissioning of onboard rail systems. You will support validation, diagnose integration issues, and ensure safety, reliability, and performance across subsystems.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s in relevant engineering and 1–2 years of hands-on experience, with strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Electromechanical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of hands-on testing and commissioning experience in rail or transportation systems.
• Strong analytical thinking, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with electrical and diagnostic tools, and experience troubleshooting hardware/software integration issues.
• Excellent communication skills and travel flexibility when needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and supervise testing and commissioning of onboard systems on rail vehicles, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards.
• Support validation and integration testing of signaling, control, communications, and onboard subsystems.
• Troubleshoot system integration issues, collaborating with design/development teams to resolve root causes.
• Document results, track nonconformities, propose corrective actions, capture lessons learned for continuous improvement.
• Enforce safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout all testing and commissioning activities.
