Alstom in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Test & Commissioning Engineer to plan, execute, and supervise onboard system testing for rail vehicles, ensuring safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. You’ll collaborate with signaling, control, and onboard subsystems to deliver integrated solutions.

With 1–2 years of hands-on experience in testing and commissioning in rail, you’ll analyze results, troubleshoot integration issues, and help drive continuous improvement while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Electromechanical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of hands-on testing and commissioning experience in rail or transportation systems.
• Strong analytical thinking, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with electrical and diagnostic tools and experience troubleshooting hardware/software integration.
• Excellent communication and collaborative, customer-focused mindset; able to travel and work nights/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and supervise testing and commissioning of onboard systems on rail vehicles, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Support validation and integration testing of signaling, control, communications, and onboard subsystems.
• Troubleshoot system integration issues, collaborating with design and development teams to resolve root causes.
• Document results, track nonconformities, propose corrective actions, and capture lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.
• Enforce safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout all testing and commissioning activities.
