Hitachi Rail is seeking a Senior Mechanical Integration Engineer in Hagerstown, Maryland, to lead 3D mechanical integration across train components and manage full train digital mock-ups. You will collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure seamless integration from concept to manufacture.

The role requires 8+ years in mechanical integration, a mechanical engineering degree, and strong CAD skills with Creo/CATIA/Autodesk.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Mechanical Integration Engineering.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong experience with 3D CAD tools (Creo, CATIA, Autodesk).
• Support team development through coaching and reviews, while being self‑managed in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication across disciplines.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, etc.

Responsibilities

• Carry out 3D mechanical integration analysis across train components, producing clear reports.
• Lead the development and integration of mechanical systems, including supplier collaboration and co-design activities.
• Manage and maintain the full train digital mock-up in 3D CAD environments.
• Develop and oversee tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure successful system integration.
• Produce full train assembly drawings to support manufacturing processes.
• Design mechanical components such as frames, brackets, and supporting structures.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners to deliver engineering excellence.
• Coach, mentor, and review the work of team members to ensure quality and development.
